for about 2 years i've had problems with my jaw.

sometimes it locks in place and i have to massage it to open my mouth again.

and most times after talking alot and making out and stuff my jaw gets really sore.

my jaw makes popping and cracking sounds whenever i open it.

what's wrong with my jaw and what can i do about it?

  1. The dislocation of your chin, on this issue to see the details of reference

  2. same here. and yes u do. go to the doctors. they make this bit plate thing that u wear and should fix it.

  3. Maybe you have been clicking it too much. Otherwise , i do not know. It could be muscle strain in your jaw from overuse. Try some daily exercises to strengthen it though most importantly see your doctor if you have not already and insist that something is wrong.

  4. You might and probably have TMJ.

    Its caused by many things:

    -jaw clenching

    -teeth grinding

    -an uneven bite

If your teeth aren't straight(you need braces), then that might be causing it. If you've already had braces and your teeth are straight, then your probably clenching your teeth a lot or grinding them at night.

What you can do is stop eating chewy foods. Eat only soft foods for a week or two and see if that helps. If you are a grinder/clencher, watch yourself and try not to do it. If nothing helps, see your dentist and he/she can give you a mouth guard to wear at night.

Theres not much they can do other than give you a mouth guard. The only other option would be surgery and no one wants to go through the pain when problems are minimal.

    Good luck!

  5. it is possible you have tmj.... i have it and it sounds like some of the same symptoms with the jaw locking and popping...

I'd say go to and orthodontist or oral surgeon and get it checked out
