My jaw keeps popping?

everytime i chew gum, just know everybite i took in a sandwhich, and when ever i open my mouth for the ortho/ dentist....its REALLY uncomfortable! i dont chew gum anymore, i stopped maybe 2 months ago, im 13, im scared i might get lock jaw? maybe , im not too sure what that is, but what will happen? will the cartalige wear down so much taht i need surgery? how do i stop it from doing this?

Okay, that totally happened to me.  I can't eat gum anymore too. It even gave me a ear infection. I heard it is really common. But tell u what, there's really nothing u can do. You can try using a boiled egg and rub your jaw(outside of course) once a week. Just try not to scream. If it didn't heal for 1 month, I recommend you to the dentist.  Hope my information help.
