  1. A clicking jaw is a sign of misalignment. It may be possible to correct with braces but there are other, less serious and less expensive methods too. I work for a Chiropractor and we work on lots of people's jaws who have the same problem. It's quick and painless. Most Chiropractors will offer you a free consultation to assess your jaw and see if they can realign it for you.

  2. TNJ problem. Braces will worsen it.Need to see an oral surgeon.

  3. Braces may not eliminate the clicking sound.  There is a misalignment of the jaw.  Fortunately, human jaws are very adaptable so if there is no pain then it is okay to leave the click untreated.

  4. Does it hurt?

My friend (of 5 years) has that same clicking sound, though it doesn't hurt and nothing is wrong. So she never did anything.

  5. My jaw also made a clicking sound. So I got a plate to fix it... it came back. Then they gave me braces... it came back again.

THey told me if I didn't fix it I would get headaches later in life etc etc...

If you ask me save your money... only get braces if your teeth are crooked because that's all they are really good for.
