Question:

My job leaves me tired&depressed. Are there any natural herbs to cure this?

I have kickboxing after work and I love the class, but my job is stressful and I feel too tired to move and angry&depressed by the time I get out and this prevents me from performing fully. I can't quit my job yet. I eat very clean and healthy, it's just that my job puts me in a horrible mood and makes me so tired. I've tried taking caffine but it does not help. Are there any natural herbs or supplements I can take to help cheer me up&give me some energy for class?

  3. St. Johns Wort is good for depression

    Ginseng, goto kola, yerba mate, and B complex vitamins are good for energy.  

    Also be sure to drink plenty of water during the day and get a good nights sleep.  

    DO NOT TAKE Valerian as emergencyphysiciangrl suggest.  Valerian will make you sleepy and tired.  She does not know what she is talking about (by the way, I'm not too impressed with the first aid and CPR certifications she states she has.  I'm a certified instructor of those classes along with several other certifications and they have nothing to do with herbs and supplements).

  4. I see St Johns Wort on the list.  Just be careful because of the long list of so called alternative remedies, this one actually does have real effects.  Thes effects could potentially be negative depending on what medications you might be taking.   One example in women it can cancel out the effect of birthcontrol..   I would consult a doctor before i begin to self medicate.  You dont have to take hardcore medication but you dont want to potentially damage yourself either.

  7. Hypericum perforatum (St. John's wort)

    Valerian officinalis ( Valerian), Turnera diffusa (Damiana), and Panax ginseng (Ginseng) are all used to helpm treat the symptoms of depression and not help the depression its self. The most common and well known herb used to treat the depression its self and not just the symptoms is Hypericum perforatum.
