Our local foodbank, along with many foodbanks nationwide, is in dire need of food and donations. I figured if we had a food drive / donation collection at work we could help a lot of people. I wrote up a great proposal which was turned down by the higher-ups at my company because of "legal issues". I'm now on a mission to raise money for the foodbank on my own. Does anyone have any suggestions for asking other individuals, corporations, churches, schools for donations?

  1. That's too bad you can't have it threw your work. But there are other places you can help. When I was younger, our youth group went around to houses asking for food donations. A couple adults drove us around. Then we we filled our boxes with food, we took it to the food pantry. My daughter's girl scout troop also does the same thing every year.

We also had one threw our school. They set different goals for pounds of food. Each time we reached a goal, we got something like a game day at school. Then when we reached the top prize the principal shaved his head infront of everyone. We also had it where we got to throw pies at teachers. It was great because students went around asking grocery stores for donations to make sure they got a bunch of food.
