Question:

My job will not pay me on time!

I started working in June of 2008 and it took them a month to pay me. They wouldn't pay me because I didn't fill out my W2 form (I kept begging them for it, but they made up excuses such as "with the opening of the new store, we don't have time") Well, when I finally did get to fill out my W2 form, my employer said "this is how I thought you were going to fill it out." So he filed it behind my back. Just today I called twice to find out my schedule for the following week, and they would not answer the phone. I called the new store, which there is usually 3 people working it, and they get an average of 2 customers a day, so they can't use the excuse that they were too busy. I just don't know what to do, wether I should look for another job, report my current employer or what. Any suggestions are welcomed.

  1. Report the employer it's the law to pay your employers. It's time to pull out the lawyer!

  2. Well, it sounds like you are at a company that is not being ran right at all, thus probably wont be around much longer. I would do two things:

    1. Find another job

    2. Contact the labor board or maybe an attorney about getting your pay that they owe you.

  3. Contact the labor dept in your state and report them.
