  1. CALF RAISES!  Do 200 calf raises a night, and I promise you, you're vertical leap will DOUBLE in a few years.

  2. You want to figure our your vertical leap to see your jumping ability.  Here are the steps

    1. Stand with your side to a wall and have someone mark off the highest point you can reach while flat-footed.

    2. Cover the underside of the tip of your middle finger in ink.

    3. Move one step back from the first mark (that of your reach).

    4. Without taking more than a step into it, jump off of both feet and touch the highest point possible on the wall.

    5. Repeat this five times.

    6. Measure the heights of your standing reach and the highest point you touched on the wall.

    7. Subtract your standing reach from the height of the highest point you touched on the wall. The number you find is your vertical jump.

I would say anything above 20 is decent for a man.  You can do certain exercises and pylometrics to slightly improve.

  3. lol you don't have bad jumping ablity you have terrible jumping ablity and there is a big difference.

Naw, you are just short. I wouldn't focus to much on jumping if I were you.

  4. you can practice to get better jumping ablitly. Plyometrics will do it

  5. exercise jumping so that you can jump higher

  6. practice will help ya. workout your lower body. abs, backs, glutes, quads, hamstrings, calves, and ankles. calf raises till you feel the burn and backboard touches. jump with both hands to touch the bottom of the backboard, as soon as u hit the ground bounce right back up like the ground is made of rubber. do till you feel the burn, rest n repeat. do a couple sets of them. you don't have to jump high on this drill, just want to touch the backboard with ya finger tips. wanna train to get off the ground fast.

  7. If it is for a standard NBA basket, then u don't need to worry. I'm 6-3 and i can barely touch the backboard.
