  1. make sure you keep the grades up, because colleges really stress junior year. and don't slack off senior year because they still look at those grades too.

take the tests early, so you have a chance to retake them. if you don't do well on the SAT, you can take the ACT, some people just do better on that one. Just make sure your college accepts both. don't forget the subject tests too, because i know people that forget to take them are are rushing to take them senior year.

and if you are worried about anything talk to your dean and s/he can help you figure out what more you can do and where you stand.

but don't worry too much. junior year was my best year, just need to stay focused.

  3. Don't be afraid. Be happy that you have these opportunities in front of you. You're healthy enough, rich enough and determined enough to make it!

Get rid of your TV. When you look back, all your best memories will be around your friends, family, studying, having great experiences and achieving your goals. Trust me, you won't remember or care about who won Idol or any sports team.

Forget about shopping. Spending hours and hours at the malls finding stuff to buy won't make you happy and certainly will interfere with getting good grades. Work hard, play hard, study hard and even hang out with your parents now and then, since you won't see very much of them after high school is all over.

    Good luck!

  4. SAT's are easy, and there's no limit to the amout of time you can take them.  So don't worry about that one.  My advice, do really well on the PSAT because it's the only way to get into the NHS.  Also, set aside a minimum of one hour EVERY DAY for doing homework/studying and MAKE yourself sit down to do it, even if you have no homework you can ALWAYS study for something.  That makes you form a habit.  A lot of Juniors end up putting off all their homework until midnight and their grades deteriorate because of it.

  5. My recommendation would be to start studying right now. I just finished my junior year. I scored a 1649 on the SAT but I didn't study hardly at all so I know I could have done a lot better. Really study hard. Maybe go to collegeboard.com and sign up for their official SAT question of the day. Those are really helpful.

  6. Don't stress about the SAT's.  If you do badly the first time you can always retake them.  I found the online course on the college board website helpful, but some of my friends liked the book (the one that's basically as big as an dictionary).  Just don't put yourself in a situation where you only can take the test once.  Sign up for the earliest date.

Junior year was basically like sophomore and freshman year, so don't worry about that.  The only really hectic time is the beginning of senior year, because you have to turn in a ton of applications and paper work.
