  1. look at where the service cord hooks to the dryer they burn off wires there a lot! People here who tell customers to get a meter and check things, first what scale should I use will rx1 work on a heater maybe I should have it on volts to check ohms and what does dcv acv mean? What is the difference between grounded and shorted?

  2. Have you checked the exhaust vent? If it's plugged up, some dryers will turn but without heat. It's meant as  a safety feature to prevent overheating.

  3. If you have a multi meter tester, you first need to check that you have 220 volts into the dryer from the outlet. Then check the terminal block at the back to look for any burned wires. If all looks fine, I would do a continuity check on the safety thermostat which is located on the element housing. You should have continuity. If not, its bad. There are other thermostats too but usually, I have seen the safety go. Its really a matter of troubleshooting the problem. If you have no heat from a brand new element, something is preventing the voltage from getting to it.

  4. Double breaker is fine, one for each hot leg.

You should get a simple ohmmeter (multitester), and check these components (Insure power is off, of course, unplug it if possible):

Timer contacts, thermostat, high-limit thermostat, there may be a separate switch for 'no heat' setting, any wiring and connections. When set in normal mode, you should read a nominal zero ohms across each.

  5. Most likely the thermostat or thermofuse on the heating element housing is burned out.
