My keyboard and mouse pad doesn't work

Question

my keyboard and mouse pad doesn't work; there also is something going on with the power up. it takes a couple attempts and i have to hold the power button. with a keyboard & mouse plugged into the usb ports it works fine.just a little unandy. kinda defeats the purpose of he laptop if you need to carry a keyboarx around with you. thanks in advance for any advice you may be able to offer.
