My keyboard got wet but its still working?

i accidentally spilled soda all over my keyboard but all the keys are still working!! i even turned my laptop upside down but no water came out. should i still go to a computer store and have my laptop checked?

  2. It all depends of how much you dropped it.

    If it hasn't shortcut yet, you should be safe for that, But i would let it sit a day without turning on...

    the bad news is that soda is sticky so pretty soon some keys might start to get jammed, then you should take out for cleaning

  3. Actually, you can try this.

    Go to the website of the company that made the laptop. You should be able to find a maintenance manual there that will detail how to remove the keyboard. It's not difficult, as long as you're careful.

    One you remove it, you can clean it with mild soap and water (like dish detergent...just a few drops) and either air dry it or use a hair dryer to blow off the water.

    You can also use those LCD monitor wipes on the top and bottom surfaces, and clean in-between the keys with some alcohol on the tip of a cotton swab. Be gentle.

    Once it's dry, reinstall in the reverse orser you removed it.

    You want to do this so you clean out the soda residue, as it can gum up the keys after a while.
