My keyboard is all wrong.?

The @ sign is where the " is and vice versa. I don't know where the pound sign is. I have tried control panel/languages/keyboard but it makes no difference, unless I am doing something wrong. Can someone tell me...step by step how to get the standard English keyboard back please?

  1. that happened with my computer, it went to an american keyboard because that's the way you set it up i'm not sure how to get it back. i think you'll just have to live with it, the pound sign should still work (hold shift and press 3) well good luck, i hope you figure it out, maybe ask a person who is good with computers.

  2. All you need to do is change the default language from English US to English UK. The instructions below are for Windows XP - Windows Vista users click on the link in sources belo for more help.

I had the same problem with my keyboard. Click on Start, click on Control Panel. Click on Regional and Language Options - there you will find a drop down box - click on it and choose English (United Kingdom).

    Should be fine now.

(see source for more details if you are still having problems).

  3. using vista

click start, then control panel, then region&languages, then keyboard & languages, then change keyboard.
