My keyboard won't type?

Question

It's plugged in properly and iv'e restarted my comp. all that works is the shortcuts for example. if i press A , it will just highlight everything.

I think it'll be your ctrl key is stuck if only the shortcuts are working, try fiddling with it, u might need to get something sharp to pry it off and replace it properly...

It doesn't sound good.  If its fairly new you could get it checked under warranty.  If it's not new-ish then consider buying a new keyboard, the fairly basic ones are not real expensive.  Otherwise - with it unplugged run your finger along the length of each row of keys a couple of times (as if it was a piano) and maybe a miracle will happen and free something up.  Plug it back in and see if anythings happening now.

If it electronic keyboard you will have to replace it with new one if it is machnical keyboard u can get it repaired

unplug the keyboard and make sure the pins are not bent. If there are they straigthened them and plug it back in. The keyboard should now work. If it still doesn't work then thow it in the garbarge and get a new one.
