  1. Boys are just boys & they decide when they are ready.

My friends so was not potty trained til he was almost 5 but he had to be trained so he could go to Kindergarten.

One weekend she stayed home & took off the diaper.  Since your son is 4 Im sure he can talk.  Her son begged for diapers but she held strong & when he finally had to pee he did go in the toilet.  Then she celebrated (that is what DR's say to do in order to make it a really joyous occasion).  Every time he went potty for that weekend they celebrated after.  After the weekend was over .. he was trained & ready for school.

  2. finish up ur last diaper package, then tell him ur not going to buy any anymore. let him go around without underpants . it is a good sign if he gets wet . he will not like the situation and will run to u crying and complaining. now u need to be strong and DO NOT give him a diaper! calmly explain him that he can use the toilet like u do and explain him how.he will get wet again and again, u just need to keep a positive attitude and tell him " it'll be better nxt time!" or "run faster next time". he's old enough to feel his body so it wont be as hard as train a 2 years old...

  3. you need to be tough on him. i know this sounds harsh and i dont  mean hitting but you really need to let him know that having a diaper is not allowed and be firm and keep your word. if you think changing him is ok then hes going to think is ok. When my boy was 1 1/2 i was stuggling finacially. i potty trained him in 3 days and i saved tons of money by doing so. but he was alot younger. he only peed 2 times after i took a diaper away. and 1 time cause he woke up scared. so this is something you need to be tough on. if you stick to your word you kid will understand its time to stop and he will. if your still having trouble call Super Nanny.:)

  4. he's not potty trained because you're not making him go in the bathroom.  sometimes they do need to be scolded.

  5. If you're against scolding him then a reward system is the only way to go.  A friend of mine used a calendar and every day with no accidents her son got a sticker, when he went a whole week filled with stickers he got a special treat.  A bag of candy like another poster suggested will also work.  Better get moving whatever you do, if he's not potty trained he may not be allowed to start kindergarden.

  6. My daughter has been potty trained since around 2 1/2 and is now almost 4.  She still does have accidents occasionally especially at night, but it is rare.  I tried using those pullups, but that actually made potty training harder for my daughter.  Once I stopped using anything absorbent she got the picture.  If I were you I think I would get rid of the diapers completely.  It will be harder right away because your son will make a few messes, but he should get the hint on why he should use the toilet.

  7. Try setting up a reward for when he does use the toilet - keep a bag of small candy around and give it to him when he's successful.

    Worked for us.

  8. Get some marbles and an empty shot glass. Fill the shot glass with marbles (so you know how many will fill it). Then empty the marbles into another small container. Tell your son that every time he goes to the potty, he will get to pick a marble and put it into the shot glass. When the shot glass is full (all the marbles are now in the shot glass again) your son will get to go with you to the store and pick out what ever "surprise" he wants...any toy. I took mine to Dollar Tree and it was a treat for him.

    Hope this helps
