My kids brought something in from the rainfall collected in a empty plastic sandbox....they look like tadpoles

I remember finding these when I was little too...they are a quarter to a half a size a penny...black head clear to light green/white body with a split tail (like a fish)....what are these?

it could be tadpoles or leaches idk for sure those could you post pictures

could you e-mail me telling me what they turn out to be because I'm very curious now i live in New England and I've never heard of these

They might be mosquito larvae!

because they seem so large i'm going to go with a tadpole or baby frog, maybe a frog got in the sandbox and laid some eggs.

if they were smaller I'd say they might be mosquitoes.
