How can I make them all one dark stain or would I have to foe finish the white cabinets?

I think the brown ones just need sanding and dark stain, right.

  1. Go get some paint stripper, use that and then sand back to bear timber

Stain to colour u want use a cloth or spounge and a few coats till happy. good luck

  2. The ideal thing would be to reface your cabinets so they would all be uniform. But if that's not in the cards, then you need to strip the pain from the white cabinets.  Then get some stains & test on a non-visible spot until you get the desired color.  You might want to end with a new coat of polyurethane on all of the cabinets to try to get them all to look alike. Good luck!

  3. without a picture I would think all one color in your kitchen cabinets would look best.  The best way is to put some dark primer on your white cabinets. You could even paint them brown like the others first.

I am not sure how stain over paint would do, but you could test a small area to find out. Like the inside of the cabinet door or inside cabinet itself if painted.
