It just started stinking this morning. I cleaned the drain and poured bleach in it, but it hasn't helped. Is there anything I can do?

  1. Use cider vinegar about once a week, just like you were doing with the bleach.

  2. First run hot water down your drain to get rid of all that bleach.  Then pour 1/2 cup table salt, 1/2 cup baking soda, then 1 cup white vinegar down the drain.  Put the stopper in, leave for 10 to 15 minutes, then run hot water down the drain.

  3. if you have a in-sink-erator in your sink, then you can put good smelling fruit in it and turn on the garbage disposal.. it makes my sink smell good!!! (lemons are the best in my opinion)

  4. do you have a garbage disposal, if so you need to clean it. a lot of people don't realize that if you don't scrub the garbage disposal every couple weeks it can smell really bad. right under the rubber food gets built up.

  5. Pour baking powder down the drain and the add some vinegar, let it sit for a @ 5 min. The run hot water and the garbage disposal. This should cure the odor.

  6. try using a cup of baking soda poured down the drain, followed by a cup of white vinegar. let it bubble for a while, then pour boiling water down the drain.  you can also try freezing used lemon wedges (squeeze out most of the juice for something else, then freeze them in a plastic bag) and then grinding them up in the disposal with cold water running to deodorize it.

  7. I don't think I'd use bleach for it's harshness - if it sits, it'll eat into pipes and cause pitting.

Baking soda is a natural environmentally friendly choice - it can also be used as a cleanser - I even sprinkle it in the dog pen.

Lemon is also a natural deodorizer that can take cigarette smell off your breath (works for waitresses) so those are a good choice as well - These people are correct in their advice - but the bleach is not recommended - I just replaced copper pipes that were pitted and springing leaks all winter.....*grrrr*

  8. Try baking soda and vinegar.  I put the baking soda in first and then some vinegar and let it sit for a few minutes.  Then I run some hot water thru and it seems to help plus unclog the drain!  Good luck-hope it helps! By the way, it will bubble so don't worry you did something wrong. It's just the combo of vinegar and baking soda working!

  9. vinegar

  10. ORANGE TKO FROM CANADA..GREAT ALL AROUND PRODUCT.... ORNAGETKO.COM

  11. Grind a fresh lemon, lime or orange in it if you have a garbage disposal.

If not just squeeze the juice down the drain.

  12. Do you have a garbage disposal? Try pouring some baking soda and vinegar in the drain. Follow it a kettle full of boiling water. A tray of ice cubes does a nice job cleaning the blades ans do citrus peelings. End with cleaning the splash guard. You'll be surprised at how dirty it is when you pull it out.
