I have 4 cats....2 are kittens about 12-14 weeks old. For some reason they all love the bath tub and just playing or laying in it. One of the kittens was playing in there and I guess one of my disposable razors fell from my shower caddy. She cut her back paw on it and there were bloody paw prints all over the shower and floor. I keep trying to put something on it but you know how hard it is to restrain a cat and what can you really put on there bandage wise that they wont rip right off. I did manage to see that it was just one of her paw pads that the tip got cut off....the skin not very deep. It did finally stop bleeding but I'm worried about infection now that she will be going in the litter box and running god knows where around my house. Any suggestions??

  1. Well You Should Take her to ur vet. He can do some stitches

or just Clean the Injury ,  and Itll heal but If its Bad , U shud take her to the vet

  2. wrap a bandage strip around her paw and tape it with non toxic tape and hope she doesn't try to tear it off.  as soon as you put it on her, (and if shes not struggling), give her a couple of treats.  i would take her to the vet to get it checked out.  if it's too deep, they would probalby give her stitches.

  3. put a guaze on it and lightly tape it with that medical tape.i cant remember the name of the tape.hey theirs my next yahoo answers question.ty!

  4. Clean is with a little Peroxide( it won't harm the kitten ) apply Neosporin and then wrap with gauze and tape, but not tightly. Take to the vet when they are open to make sure that the kitten does not need stitches or other medical care.

Instead of litter, use shredded newspaper for a few days as litter.

  5. All bleeding stops eventually.  I would use Yesterdays News or a recycled paper product and change frequently.  Avoid getting the dust in wounds.

  6. Call your vet and ask him/her for advice over the phone.  You might even talk to a vet tech who can help you if the veterinarian is busy.  You can rest assured with what they say.
