Question:

My kitten had a lump on his outer thigh for about 2 weeks and then it went away. Should I be concerned?

About a month ago a lump appeared on my kitten's back outer thigh. It grew to become the size of a large M&M, and never seemed to bother him (I would push on it and he didn't notice). Then after about two weeks the lump started getting smaller and smaller until it disappeared. I noticed the lump a few days after he got his vaccinations and was neutered. I was going to get him checked out by the vet until I noticed the lump was getting smaller.. Should I just forget about it? Or is it something I should be concerned about?

Thanks for your help!

  1. These "lumps" happen sometimes after a cat has been vaccinated and usually cause no harm.  You can call your vet's office and tell them abut the lump. Most likely your vet will reassure you that nothing is wrong.

    Good Luck!

  2. Maybe he had some sort of the reaction to the shots...he should be fine. It still wouldn't hurt to get him looked at though.
