  1. I think he's just behaving like a kitten would. Each cat has it's own personalty and this oneshappens to be hyper. As for being scared he's probilly just not eentirelyused to you yet. It will take him time. I say just be patient.

  2. THATS WHAT A FREAKIN CAT DOES! ITS JUST BEING A KITTEN! IF YOU DONT LIKE IT U SHOULD OF BOUGHT A CAT!

  3. Oh, he's just being a cat! My cat is only 1 year old and she does exactly the same. She's a pest! She won't let anybody hold her (she doesn't like to be held) and she runs when we come near her because she's just hyper! You have to hold your hand out and the cat will sniff you and they will get used to you. Besides, at night, cats just want to relax, not sleep (cats are mostly noc-turnal.) So, this is normal. Give him a few more weeks and he'll be perfectly fine!

  4. You have only had him for a little while. It take at least two weeks for a kitten to settle in and for some it takes a month or more. He is in a new environment, with new people and it is a lot to take in. He is also learning the boundaries. You just need to give him time and patience.

I work in an animal shelter, you would not believe the number of people that return animals after only a week. The next person who takes that same animal home, give it more time and it fits in. Just show the kitty love.

One of my cats took quit a few months to become affectionate, mainly due to poor handling of the breeder.

  5. Yeah that is just how kittens are. Enjoy it while you still can because they will mellow down when they become cats.

  6. He is acting like a normal kitten

    they are very hyper

to get them not to scratch everything this is what I had to do

(the vet told me to do this)

get a carpeted scratching post (they need to scratch)

when you see s/he scratching on something that you do not want him to scratch take him to his scratching post and rub his paws on it

it will also help if you get catnip spray and spray his scratching post with it

also get Shoo spray and spray everything else

    they do not like it.

and as for him jumping out of your arm it could be that he does not like heights or he does not trust you yet he may feel that you are going to drop him

some times it takes a bit for them to trust.

if s/he is driving you nuts get a large crate (cage) and keep him in it when you are not home that way you know that he is being good when you are gone.

with cats / kittens it is a learning behavour that you have to be careful of once you train him it will be ok
