My kitten was obsessed with fake gerberas! (Bright coloured flowers) All kittens are crazy anyway.

i think  its normal  all kittens love to play  with the things  and get obsesed with them...

i had a kitten namen  "lila"  she  became obsessed  with a string ball  and also tea bags  

its a kitten   it  just  wants  to play  ^_^

Certain cats have strange attractions to particular objects. I would discourage playing with tea bags. Regular tea has a high level of caffeine which can be toxic in cats.

Obsessed how? As in eating them, playing with them, rubbing on them, or what?

Is it a mint-flavored tea or herbal tea?  I found that my cats love anything that smells "minty" -- especially Ben g*y-type pain relief ointment.  It could be that your cat is mistaking it for catnip, as catnip belongs to the mint family of plants.
