My kitten is peeing and pooping out of the litter tray?

I have two kittens and I know for sure its just one of them because I saw him doing it. He's peed in one of the cat beds twice, on MY bed once (eww) I went in the bath last night and there was pee a p**p in the towel :( was cleaning living room today and he'd peed on the curtains :(

He's not ill, been to the docs recently. I clean the litter tray out enough and I cant see why he'd be stressed. I'm worried because my boyfriend wants to give him to someone else because hes peeing on everything.

What can I do? We got them when they were 8 weeks and they're 16 weeks, I'm sure he wasnt doing this at first.

i have always had cats and never used a little tray.

from the time i first got them, i took them outside every half an hour. when they had weed or pooed, i bought them straight back in. this way, they knew what i had taken them out for. after a week, they stood by the door waiting to go out.

i then got a cat flap and they went out by themselves. bar very few accidents, they have all been spotless.

It could possibly be the type of litter you are using.  Some cats do not like the feel of some clumping litters because it's not comfortable to walk on and it gets stuck in their feet.  Try switching to another litter.  You are also going to have to sterilize everything he's peed on because he'll just continue to do it.

Cats will not use a dirty litter tray, so you need to clean it out more often.  My Aunt  has three kittens and she found that if the litter tray was full, they would mess on the floor.

have you changed brands oflitter? changing brands will effect they way the go,  could be a health problem not yet detected. or could be rivalry between the 2 cats.

Can I advise.You need TWO trays down as cats dont like using a tray thats "used" by another.try the covered trays as well.and Id also recomend you try shredded paper..

Ps.Dont pass the kit on to anyone else otherwise the stress could make

him worse and then he just gets passed on and passed on till eventually hes out on the streets. Get him neutered hes old enough.if they are litter mates then get both done.that way ones not dominant over the other,

i had this problem with my kitten to i have 2 cats i got them at the sametime and my male cat started peeing and pooing on towels ect ect, and it was because he was ready to start going out and doing his deeds, i also got him neutered which seemed to help.

if its by the food bowl, they dont use the litter box.

When he poops move the p**p to the litter box, if he pees any where clean it up and make sure the smell is gone. This way he'll smell where he did it last and go there again, right now he poops al over because he has already pooped all over so anywhere is fine for him right now since the smell is everywhere. I know it's a messy job but you'll only have to do it once and then never again because he will keep going at the place where he smells he went last.

Kittens/cats usually do this for a couple of reasons.  Sometimes they decide they want their own litter box.  In my experience if a cat is pooping and peeing on my own things (your towel) the cat is mad.  The kitten could be feeling stress in the house (between you and other people in the family) or is angry because of some other change in it's surroundings.  I had a cat that would leave me a present in my shoes if I went away for the weekend.  Cats are funny..  Good luck

He's stressed because of something!! he wants to show you he's angry. My friend has a cat, she went pooping all over the place lately after my friend's mother passed away. The cat wants to show them she's upset, that's why she's doing this!
