My kitten just made the weirdest noise..help!?

My kitten was playing and then all of a sudden she stopped and made this weird noise like she was gonna throw up but she didnt. I was thinking maybe its a hairball. Can someone help me? Does the noise a cat makes before they throw up a hairball different from when they puke? She hasn't had a hairball since we got her 5 months ago.

A lot of cats do that.  It's probably nothing to worry about.  If she sounds like she's doing it quite frequently and/or making choking noises you should go to the vet.

Could have been a hairball.  Just keep an eye on her, and keep her in a place where puke is easy to clean up. If she doesn't make the noise again or throw up then you've nothing to worry about. And puke is puke, whether there is hair in it or not. Same noise. keep her groomed or if it becomes a problem again feed her the hairball remedy gel.

most likely it is a hairball i have 2 cats they do those noises once a while also.

It's normal. She just gagged is all. A hairball was going to come up, but she got it back down. My cats usually make that noise too but most often they don't throw it up. Sometimes they make hariballs, but mostly never. Nothing wrong =)
