We got Lizzie 6 days ago, she is Very Affectionate, but there are only so many hours in the day and she wants to be held most of them.

She also has this thing about touching my face with her paw..She doesnt know how to play by herself and constantly wants me on the floor to play with her. Also, she will not and I mean will not, go to sleep unless I hold her,,,I do love her, but its getting annoying..she is 13 weeks old

  1. shes a kitten, she misses her mom. she will probably grow out of it. I would love it if I had her .

maybe if you got another kitten they would play and cuddle together and take some of the burden off of you,

and it would be good for her too. she will have company when you are out of the house. two kittens would be easier in your case than one to take care of.

  2. I'd say it's normal for a kitten to behave like this. Give her a toy that she can roll around on the floor to keep herself occupied. Don't let her hit you in the face, just gently push her hand away when she tries to.

  3. BE HAPPY that your kittens wants so much of your attention.  Have you read, on here, the many messages from people whose kittens didn't want to be touched.....and hid from them?

Your kitten is suffering from "separation anxiety"...from her mom and siblings.  Continue to hold, cuddle, and play with her.  As she gets a little older, and more used to her new invironmnet, she'll probably go off on her own more.

Get her some fluffy animals, ball, etc and toss them around for her.  Or, tie a heavy (athletic) sock in a knot, and give her that to love on.

Patience is the key, here.  Enjoy her while she's young.  They grow up way too fast!

    Good luck.............

  4. my cat was just like that, she would stand there and look and make noise at me, until i picked her up and would play and hold her. eventually i got annoyed, i literally could not pick up a book, i just left her in the room by herself for 2 hours or so, i found her playing by herself, from then on she knows that i am not always there and has to entertain herself, and with the bed issue, she still only sleeps on by bed by my feet, she is now 3.

I suggest that you pay a lot of attention to her, but just for a few hours a day leaver her where she cant see you, eventually she will get over it. About the sleeping issue, i am still working on that one myself.

  5. If you are willing and able, the best way is to get her a friend to play with by getting another kitten.  If that's not possible, then it's all about making sure she has toys that allow her to amuse herself.

Try one of those donut shaped toys with the ball inside.  This keeps my girls busy for loooong stretches of time.  Also, anything that is motion activated.  These will keep her mind active as she tries to sneak up on it.

Don't try to "rig up" a manual toy....like one of those wand toys.....unless you are there to watch.  Too many cats have been injured and even died due to getting wrapped up in a toy that was not meant for self-play.

Look specifically for toys that are meant to allow cats to amuse themselves.  This should allow you a break and give her a chance to have some fun!

    Good luck!

  6. that means it will be a verry freindly open cat its a good sign it means its

nicely temperd  give it all the love u can now and u will enjoy him / her for the rest of your life

  7. is your cat a russian blue? if yes, its in their nature to be that affectionate. if not then just love the kitten. it just got separated from its mother not too long ago. i hug my cat all the time and she's a russian blue. sometimes she wants me to put her to sleep but I'm busy doing something. so i carry her and she grips my face, looks into my eyes with her round pupils that make it seem like she's thinking please Mommy.... lol Sorry with my story hope i helped... just give the baby affection back there's nothing wrong or strange about it.

  8. OMG!!! thats so cute ^^

my lil black and white kitten is the same! hes a boy and hes the most gorguz thing iv ever seen, when im watching tv he just jusmps on my lap and outs his paw on my face, he will come and curl up with me while im sleeping he is the most affaectionate gorguz thing!!

i love him to death, be pleased ur kitty likes u, u could have one that runs away and never lets you hold it ^^

  9. when she comes to get held hold her for a minute then put her down if she cries pet her but don't pick her up!

  10. AWWW thats so cute. you should be really happy because their are so many cats that hate being held and aren't affectionate at all and that would probably be more annoying for you especially when it comes to taking it to the vet. so just carry on playing with her and give her mice toys on strings and any other toys and scratchin gposts ect that she can use on her own.

  11. I Think you are very lucky to have such an affectionate cat as some are very moody

she is probably just lonely and used to going to sleep with her brothers and sisters around her so now she is in a place with no one to play with

if you live with any other people let them take some of the responsobiltiys so she doesnt get too atched to you. and try and get her some toys that she doesnt need a person to hold them, like a mecanical mouse or ping pong ball

  12. Can I have her? Our cat is mean to my kids. I need a nice one.

  13. hehe that is soooo cute!!

Get another kitten so they can cudddle 2gether!!
