Have asked a lot of kitten questions. I have had my fair share of experience with them. This kitten is just different. Ok so we found him and the vets estimated him to be about five or six weeks old. The thing i am worried about is his eyes. Should they still be developing at his age? This is what his eyes do: His pupils go in two opposite directions. it is kind of creepy. I am pretty sure he can still see, it is just that they pupils go in two different directions. Thank you. I would post a picture but it is very difficult to take a picture of a kitten...hahaha

my kitten was just at the vet a yesterday and they didnt mention it. he has been on meds for his eyes goopiness and they are now better. just an fyi so my real main question is: is this normal at his age? will it cause any seeing problems in the future if it isnt norma;?

thanks!

  1. If your vet didn't say anything, it is probably nothing.  It sounds like your kitten could have been a feral kitty and didn't get proper nutrition his first few weeks of life.  It is also possible that your kitten has crossed-eyes or lazy eye.  If you are worried, you should probably call your vet and ask.

  2. Heidi and Lillian may both be more right than me. But my question is...What kind of light is your kitty in when you notice that happen? I've been servant to a few babies, and I have noticed that if light is only shining on one side of their face, only one eye will dilate. It's weird and kinda cool at the same time.

  3. That's normal. Just like in humans, kitties eyes are still developing so sometimes they go in different directions making them look goofy.
