  1. Could be a reaction to the shots.  My cat got a site reaction in the form of a hard lump that lasted for a month after a rabies vaccine.  Didn't bother her none though.

  2. I don't know if it could be a reaction to the shots, but I can't say it's not either.  I would call your vet and ask.  Doesn't cost anything and you don't have the hassle of dragging the kitties in unless they suggest it.

Besides that, diarrhea is nothing to mess with.  It's very dehydrating.  Whatever the cause, you should keep an eye on it, keep them hydrated and get it resolved as quickly as possible.

I'm mainly responding because of the ignorant answers you've received about canned food.

Canned food DOES contain all the nutrients cats or kittens require.

Canned food DOES NOT cause diarrhea.  (When will this myth die????)

Canned food IS the best food for cats or kittens, although the brand you use matters as well.

    Ok, hissy fit over.

Now to some questions:  Is this a new food?  Or did you change their diet recently?  Have they gotten too many treats or a new brand of treats?  Might they have gotten into something they shouldn't have?

Any of the above can cause digestive upsets.  Some cats or kittens require dietary changes to be made slowly, so if you did make a recent change this might just be the result.  The solution would be to back off and give them more of the old food, and gradually increase the amount of the new.

  3. My kitten got a FVRCP booster (Sat) and was running a fever of 104 degrees on the following Monday.  I gave her a homeopathic remedy for that and it went away on Tuesday, returned on Wednesday and then she was fine.

I had never had that reaction from a shot.  You will mostly likely get a "reaction" if you give many shots at one time.

  4. Lots of information going on here.

Always call your vet if your pet has had a possible vaccine reaction.  Even if it is not severe enough to treat, they need to know about it for the future.  They may choose a different vaccine the next time for you or not give so many at once or even choose to give some injections to stop the reaction ahead of time.

Usually a vaccine reaction that causes fever, pain, and diarrhea will happen sooner than 3days later.  Canned food or a change in diet is always a theory.

Some pets get diarrhea when they are teething.

You should call the vet and let them know what is going on.  That is what they are there for.

I hope They feel better soon.  :)

  5. It might be a side effect, but it could also be as simple as that they're eating canned food. Kitten's stomachs aren't able to handle food that older cats can eat, so I would go to a pet store and ask them what formula of food is best for your kittens! They should actually eat mostly dry kibble and have occasional wet food. Try going to a pet store and changing their food to something formulated specifically for kittens. If they are still sick in a couple days, bring them to the vet-- Kittens can get really sick really fast if they aren't treated right. Also make sure that they are drinking fresh, clean water all day long so they stay hydrated.

  6. Well, how old are they? Canned food is a horrible meal supplement! It just does not provide them all the nutrients they need. Also, it's not good for their teeth. Canned food should be used only as a treat.

You need to get them on a good kitten kibble diet. DRY food. I would almost guarantee it is the canned food giving them diarhea
