my cats like coffee, i try not to give them too much. nothing is going to happen except for being a little too active, running around more than usual, jumping not sitting still. eventually your cat will be a cat again and take a nap. but please try not to let your cat drink caffeine, it's not good for their digestion.

Cats, especially young kittens, can suffer serious side effects from consuming caffeine. Make sure you have the phone number to the local emergency vet on hand in case your kitten needs to be seen over night. Espresso contains approximately 30-50mg caffeine per 1oz 'shot' serving, and cats can get sick with as little as 50-80mg of caffeine on board. Signs to look out for are hyperactivity, increased respiratory rate, and increased heart rate.  Be aware of any changes in your cats attitude or behavior and get him/her to a vet right away if you suspect they are suffering side effects from the caffeine.
