  1. Percy speaks the cold harsh truth.  Your lack of responsible pet ownership has placed your beloved pet at risk, 6 kittens at risk and they will likely go into new "freebie" homes where they will continue the cycle...and the shelters will have to keep killing.

Is your cat a kitten?  If so, she may not be able to properly provide for kittens herself.  Is she positive for a disease like FIV? FelV? FIP? If so, she probably passed it onto the kittens.  Has she been checked to see if all the kittens were born, that none were deceased in the womb and not born?  Mummified babies eventually kill the mom cat.

Being a responsible pet owner entails spay/neuter, or at least making sure that they dont' get pregnant.  Being a responsible parent of a pregnant cat means that they should get prenatal care, prenatal vitamins and good food, etc...

It's hard to believe with all the information available, people still cannot make sure their cats don't have kittens.

  2. try giving you cat kitten food, and take them all to the vet

  3. How about TAKING THEM TO THE VET?  Odds are you allowed your unspayed cat to roam freely outdoors so she not only pregnant but she may have contracted a disease - which she's now passed on to her kittens.

While you're there schedule an appointment to get the mother cat spayed.  It's bad enough you just killed six cats or kittens at your local shelter by taking homes away from them with this litter.  Please don't kill anymore.

And please spay and neuter this litter BEFORE you give away these kittens or you may singlehandledly be responsible for THOUSANDS more unwanted kittens if these kittens go on to breed, and their kittens, and so on, and so on.

  4. I had this same problem with my kitten, she was a pound under weight. When i took her to the vet he gave me some 'science diet' canned cat food. If you go into your vets office and ask him what kind of canned food to get for cats who aren't gaining wait, he'll tell you. My cat grew very fast from the food, I noticed an improvement within a few days. :]

  5. GO 2 A VET!!!!!!!

  6. Mom should be on kitten formula and a higher quality brand like Science diet, Pro Plan, Royal Canin, and Iams. Plenty of water.

Bring her and the kittens into your vet, she could possibly have a mastitis (inflammation of the mammary glands/ possible infection).

Kittens should at least be gaining an ounce or two every few days. Losing weight is a big problem.

  7. Supplement her regular food with kitten food, it is very rich and should put some weight on her.  You can also give her kitten formula to drink from a dish (never cow's milk, it will make her sick).

have a vet look over the mother and the kittens to make sure they don't have a parasite or anything similar that would prevent them from gaining weight.
