  1. a three week old kitten is too small for anyone to stick their fingers in their rears!! it will harm it or kill it if you try! jeeze! call the vet and ask what to give the kit to help it poo, are you feeding it KMR and kitten food? sometimes the milk replacer can cause a little constipation. the vet might have you give the kit a small amount of tuna oil or pumpkin to help things along. since you just had the kit in then I am sure they weighed it, the vet will know how much you should give according to the kit's weight.

  2. As long as the kitten's energy level hasn't changed, you're probably okay. Although 3 or 4 weeks is pretty young to be weaned.  He should probably be getting formula for a couple weeks yet particularly with the added stress of what he's been through.

When you rub, the cloth needs to be wet, warm, and slightly rough.  As close to the texture of mom's method as possible.  Many kittens will stop defecating for a small period of time when they're learning how to do it on their own.  Certainly keep a close eye on him to make sure he doesn't show any symptoms of stress or illness caused by lack of bowel movements.

  3. he might be constipated. you should try have a diff vet see if that's the problem. or as we had to do get a glove and have a vet go get er done(get the p**p out manually) i know gross but that's probobly what

  4. Its not unusual for kittens to stop pooping temporarily but 2 days is a very long time for a little body.

I'd say hes traumatised by the tug of war thing.

Get the 2nd opinion of another vet - urgently.

If he is still eating but not pooping then eventually he's gonna run out of space inside and the only way is up.

Word of advice though, kitten poo doesn't always smell like big cat poo. Check behind the sofa, chairs, under the book shelves etc. You'd be suprised where they can leave you unwanted presents that you find weeks later...

  5. Try the finger method.  This might be able to get him to p**p.

And besides, cats are disgusting nasty creatures, eeeewwwww

  6. Th rub thing should work. Make sure that when you do it you use a washcloth with warm water and if its not working try to make the water even warmer and that doesn't work. Soak his bottom in some warm water because if he is constipated, it will help it out. Good luck.
