My kneecap keeps clicking when I bend down and again when I stand up, or when it goes from a bent position into a straight one and vice versa. Its really strange, feels very disconcerting, like something is disconnected or out of place. Its only one kneecap, and its been going on or a couple days..any ideas as to what it could be? Its not too painful, but it does ache..and it hurts if I do something too suddenly, or put a lot of weight on it

  1. it sounds to me that u are having a tracking issue with ur patella... u may want to see an orthopeadist to get an MRI... if this continues u may wind up having to have a surgery called a lateral release, this is where the doc will cut the lateral rituculm which should pull ur kneecap back in to the proper alignment...

u may also need to have the cartilage smoothed on the under side of ur knee

  2. you may have a torn miniscus ! or ligament !

  3. Go to your Gp hun, in the mean time try using a support bandage such as Tubi Grip, do not wear it to bed though, wear only whilst your up & active. Use pain relief, soak in the bath & use bath salts.

When in bed, place some pillows under your knee as support for it. Your Gp may refer you to see a consultant.

    Good Luck. X :-)

  4. My knee does something like that

I dont know why myself and its done if for years

Nothing ever wrong with my leg tho

So I wouldnt wouldnt worry to much

But my clicks as you say and aches etc
