  1. Your dogs digestive system may have been in for a shock with the trotter as i'm guessing it's not apart of the daily diet.

If the problem persists more than a few days seek help from a vet but other than that your lab should be fine

  2. When we gave our lab a pig's ear that happened. Don't feed it until you know it has definitely stopped and then when you do feed it, feed soft food like boiled fish or chicken with those little pasta shapes. If it doesn't imporve in a day or two take it to the vets. Make sure water is available at all time for it to drink and after you finished feeding it fish/chicken and pasta mix it with it's normal food so it adapts back to that. Hope that helped

  3. hope it wasn't still atached to the pig

  4. hi, its up to you, but these trotters and rawhide chewy things are no good for animals and contain zero nutritional value, they are just a choking hazzard and a risk of blocking the digestive tract.

  5. Sometimes a dogs digestive system may have difficulty adjusting to changes in their diet, the same way humans might. From personal experiences, many dogs have problems like this when digesting pork, so staying away from pork may be the best thing for your dog.

Wait a few days and your labrador should be fine again. However, if they continue to suffer for more than a couple of days then you should see the vet to check there isn't anything else wrong.

  6. For the next day or so only feed you dog bland food (chicken and rice) until his digestive system has a chance to calm down.

Apparently there is something in pork which disagrees with dogs (see previous reply about dog food not coming in pork flavour)

Make sure he has plenty of water too as he will be losing a lot of fluids, like us he'll probably also want to just lie down most the time, so make sure he is comfortable and not stress him out too much

  7. I have a golden retriever and she lately has had the runs, if you take your lab to they vets they should give your dog an injection and some antibiotics. I have hared that Labs and Retrievers have quite poor stomachs!

  8. You may want to ask yourself why you cannot buy pet food that contains Pork

and then stop feeding the dog it !
