My lake property is land locked to get to it i have to cross 125 ft eminent domain drive to get to it?

i had a code enforcement officer come across a locked cable that sepratates the properties and i have 20 no trespasing signs on my property he came across and told me to get off my property i have owned this property for 42 years can he tell me to get off my own land taht i pay taxes on?

  1. unfortunately, there's nothing you can do regarding eminent domain. the gov't has right to the land. best suggestion would be to speak w/ someone at your town hall and get some sort of variance.  


  2. Sounds like you had better consult an attorney.  Do you have a code violation of some sort?  I think that if you have land locked property, someone will have to grant you an easement for access.

  3. .   Did you possibly misunderstand?  He can make you stop crossing the eminent domain property.  He can't do anything about your being on your own land..

    Next time you are at the land, have a copy of your deed and a plat map (available at any escrow company or online at the County Assessors Office.  Hand it to him and smile. Say nothing.
