My landlord had me sign another lease while i was still in the first one is this legal

this was 7 months into the first lease, my boyfriend moved in that seventh month due to relocation for his job

  2. Quite legal. Your landlord wanted anyone living in the unit to be on the lease. You could have refused to sign it but, he could have denied your boyfriend the right to move in.

  3. yes this is legal.  the new lease made the old lease void. you didn't have to sign the lease but if it was because your boyfriend moved in then maybe the landlord wanted to make sure that was included.

    yep I'd say they can do that, they more than likely charge more if someone else moves in..

    It's not a second lease, it's a modified lease, and the first one is null.
