whenever our grass is not perfectly cut our neighbors call our landlord, and he calls us cussing us out. also we've been late like twice on rent. but he's always gotten his money, that's never been an issue. but those few times we were late, he calls leaving nasty voice mails. i'm sick and tired of it. i'm sick of getting talked down to.

    Pay your rent on time.

    Cut the grass.

    Grow up.

  2. I ,d say tell your landlord to get stuffed they think just cause the word Lord is in their title they can act like God..

if he is abusive report him to councle  or get advice from CAB ( citizinses advice bureau)

  3. If you want to get from your nagging land lord you have two different options. First, cut your grass clean and always pay your rent on the due date . The second choice is that Move out from the house. and the last but not list if u can rent a full house u can buy a house and pay for the mortgage because when you pay rent you only collect receipt  but if you buy a house even if you don't want to leave in the house you will have money left.

  4. I'm in the exact same situation...my dad is my landlord, so we have decided to move.  Unfortunately, my dad is my realtor and I'm getting sick of getting talked down to while we look for a new place too....When will it end???

  5. Your situation really sucks. His behavior is unprofessional!

First, the grass - Next time he does this, point it out and tell him not to speak to you that way. If he continues, hang up the phone. Write a letter, along with pics of your newly cut grass and how it looks when she complains. Unless your lease has specific instructions to cut it before it gets x amount long, I would not worry about it.

I would not be late again. Simple avoidance.

Third, I would move the next chance I got!!!

  6. Your landlord's behavior is unacceptable.  At best you can document the occurrences and try to tape them or have witnesses and take him to small claims court for harassment.

Unfortunately, what you have working against you is that have been delinquent in paying your rent.  While you may think that just because you "eventually" do pay him that all is well you are mistaken.  You are lucky he is not slapping you with a 5 day notice of eviction.  He is in his rights to do so.

You should not have to put up with the cussing so either just hang up, walk away or take him to court.  As far as the grass cutting goes, unless  you agreed in writing to do that as part of the conditions of your tenancy then stop cutting the grass.

  7. Every place I have ever rented , I was never responsible for maintaning the outside of the building . Did you sign a Lease or something stating it is YOUR responsibilty to take care of the lawn ?

Just as a percaution I would save the Voice Mails , they might come in handy later on .

If you are at your wits end , I would confront him . Just have a good alibi .

    Im rootin for ya.

  8. 1: Talk the h**l out of him.

    2: Call the cops.

  9. It isn't professional of him to cuss.  For some reason renters seem to think that if they don't keep their end of the bargain, it just doesn't matter.  It is so annoying to have to call someone and tell them to cut the grass.  You already agreed and know to keep it cut but no. . .you're not doing it so he has to call you and obviously again and again.  About late rent. . .You signed a contract to pay on a certain day.  For some reason you think your landlord doesn't need the money when you said you would pay it.  What you are is a hassle and that IS an issue.  Do your part and you won't get the calls.  Pretty simple.  If you don't like it, move.  I wouldn't renew your lease anyway.
