I went on holiday for 3 weeks, and now my battery isn't working properly. It won't charge, and if I unplug the laptop with the battery in, the whole thing turns off. what's going on? how can i fix it? Looking for options other than "buy new battery"

  1. It sounds like one of your battery cells might have died over the 3 weeks. If that isn't the case, one of the 3 pins that connect the battery to the laptop might be loose, which won't provide the necessary power to power up your computer.

There aren't really ways of fixing this, unless you open up the laptop battery (recommended you don't). And if you do buy a laptop battery, you might want to know that a battery is left best in a room temperature of around 20-25 degrees celsius, at a 40% charge. That's right, don't leave a laptop alone on full charge, otherwise it WILL stuff up.
