  1. You'll need to send the hard drive to a data recovery service. Check in the back of a PC magazine. Also, call some local computer shops.

  2. Advanced users would use Linux(not that difficult if tutorial is followed)http://www.help2go.com/Tutorials/Linux%1...

  3. If your laptop is fairly new (which it should) it probably uses a hard drive with a SATA interface connection.

Remove the drive off the laptop (CAREFULLY!!!) and connect it on  desktop system that has a motherboard that supports SATA drives.

Make sure the power supply of the desktop system also provides a power outlet that is SATA drive compatible, otherwise get an adaptor.

If all these sound too complicated, take the system to a computer shop and let the pros handle it.

  4. take the HDD out buy an adapter and put it in a full size PC

  5. option 1) purchase an external USB enclosure for your hard drive.  These are not too expensive (the link below has them for $5!).

option 2) purchase IDE/SATA to USB cables

option 3) use a laptop hard drive to desktop adaptor and install it in your computer as a 2nd drive.

You need to find out whether it's SATA or IDE(PATA).  If it's a more than a couple years old it's probably IDE.  If it's newer, probably SATA.  If you can't figure this out, use the adapter cable kit that comes with both from the link below.
