the sluggishness comes and goes. it's really strange. dell sold me an adapter that isn't powerful enough for my computer, i found out months after i had it and the battery has been not charging fully. so we kept it plugged in and used it that way. but now it's acting slow even when plugged in on the adapter. could this be the problem?

  1. sounds like something is eating up memory.  you should check for viruses and spyware.

  2. You have probably got to much unnecessary software or a virus. You RAM or Memory left on your laptop could be low

  3. im not too sure about the adapter, that could be a cause of it, i use a laptop with weak memory and ram which is a big cause of its slowness lol try performing a disk cleanup and disk defragmenter which can be found in your programs-accessories-system tools, You could also enter the advanced options on your disk cleanup and delete previous restore points. Also on control panel look on system-system restore and move the bar to minimum this should free up a lot of space on ur Hard Drive. Some people get from 4-20gbs back depending on their memory.

Just for an extra download CCleaner free. thats usefull for clearing your registry. good luck.
