My laptop fan blows out hot air and it can get really hot i just want to know what actually heats up in it.?

Its always been on my mind because the fan blows out air and it can get really hot, i would like to know what gets that hot.

  1. Processor, hard drive, video chip, motherboard

    Make sure you don't block any of the air ports.  Overheating is the biggest reason laptops die.


  2. It's something that holds the memory.. I think.. not sure BUT

    it's a really bad idea to let your laptop get hot.

    You should leave it on a wooden area when you are not using it

    it can possibly crash from over heating

  4. The power controllers and all the chips generate heat. So do the drives. The biggest source of heat is normally the CPU. this is true of all computers, but is more pronounced on a laptop as all the components are squeezed into smaller more concentrated areas.

  5. Most of the heat is coming from the processor.

  6. The processor. It gets about as hot as a 100 watt lightbulb.

    Which is why it needs a fan and sink to cool it.
