My laptop isn't charging, and it's not the battery?

My laptop hasn't been working for 2 months, I ordered a battery and it finally came today (I've thought all along that it was the battery). However, it still won't charge, even with the new battery. What else could be wrong with it?

  1. if it's not the battery then it can only be the plug ( charger ) or poor contacts at the battery terminal. if all are working then try updating the BIOS ( it is the program that controls things like the charging system, fans, etc. )

  2. Will the computer run off AC power without the battery connected?

    If so, it's the internal battery charger - call the manufacturer support because it'll probably need to go in for service.

    If not, it's probably a bad AC adapter - so you're running on the battery all the time.

    Also, try turning it off and see if it charges - maybe it's just not enough power to run and charge (I've seen this before but it shouldn't happen)

  3. if you plug in the adapter and plug it into the wall, does it work then?

    If it works, it is the charger/battery

    If it does NOT, it is the computer

    sorry =[

  4. well it could be your charger. i suggest u buy a new one
