My laptop keeps crashing !?

Hi I've had my laptop over a year and the screen keeps going blank and then it turns off I've done virus checks e.c but it still happens does anyone know what's wrong i don't know whether to take it in for repair if so how much does it cost ?

Use the event viewer to find out what is causing the crashes.

1.Click Start

2.Click Control Panel

3. Click System and Maintenance

4. Click Administrative Tools

5. Double-Click Event Viewer.

6. Under Windows logs, Click System tab

7. Check for red errors icons and the exclamation icons.
