My laptop makes a loud (one) BEEP noise whenever it connects to a wifi?

Does anyone know how to stop it? It wasnt like this before it just recently started making this beeping noise. it's really annoying

  1. Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Services.  Make sure that Wireless Zero is running.  You may be using the wireless configuration utility that came with your wireless card.  (Running the CD that comes with it without knowing what it's doing can cause this.)  Wireless Zero doesn't do what you describe.  (And it's the one thing Microsoft got right.)

My laptop makes a loud 'beep' sound when I plug it in or put it to sleep.  I know it's normal.  I have an Acer, and it's the only laptop that I know of that does that. . .but since this is my first, I don't know which other brands do that.  Consider it normal (you might even be able to change that sound or delete it through Control Panel under Audio) and turn down your volume when you connect to the internet.
