My laptop picks up the att router signal, in the house but cant get online. How can I fix it says ip adress 0.

  1. is there a computer in the house that can access the router? If so, you can modify router settings to allow your computer to get in. There are three basic modes of security that people tend to use. 1. not broadcasting SSID. 2. WEP enabling. 3. MAC address filtering. If you see the SSID, that one is solved. If it has WEP enabling, you have to configure that network profile on your computer to include the WEP password. If you then disable MAC filtering, you can see if you are able to get in. If you do, you can add your MAC address to the table and turn MAC filtering back on.


  2. Some routers use MAC address filtering.  Meaning if you do not subscribe to them and give them your MAC address (unique hardware ID for your wireless card) the router will not even respond to your computers requests.
