Question:

My laptop screen is not turning on, what do I do?

Hello,

I have a Toshiba satellite 50, I left my computer on for some time without the battery, and now the screen is not turning on. The lights, however, showing the power and battery status are working fine. It is just the screen that is not doing anything. Also, the power button is on, and I'm not able to turn it off, so it's constantly on, even if I disconnect the battery.

Anyone knows what seems to be the problem?

thank you.

  1. plug the power cord back wait five mins then press the FN button with the F5 key (same time )you might have to do this a few times the screen should come back on if not,

remove the batt, power cord and wait a day for all power to discharge and retry

  2. I would hold down the power on button for two minutes- it should power off. then turn it back on to see if it corrects itself. If it doesnot- do you have a different monitor you can plug it into- connect the laptop to an external monitor- if it works then you might have a serious problem. One of my laptop screens went out - it was a burned out backlight. very expensive and hard to replace-try  the external monitor- yours or a friends
