My laptop wont connect to the internet

Question

I just bought a new acer extensa laptop. The laptop was working just fine at my moms home (she has a wireless router) and i could connect just fine to the internet. But when i got back to my own house tonight and tried to connect to the interent it wont work. Here i have a cable modem connected to a startech 4 point router and then my laptop is connected to my router via a ethernetcord. the problem is i can connect to my network with my other computer and my xbox360 but the laptop cant connect to the internet. But when i can connect to my router etc. So im guessing its a setting on the laptop.

plug the ethernet cable back into your laptop.  try to disable the device and enable it.

If you're running windows:

Click start.

Connect to-

Show all connections.

And your internet gateway might be disabled, enable it.
