My laptop wont read headphones???

Question

i plugged my head phones into my laptops headphone jack, yet the music still plays out of the speakers. i tried plugging those same head phones into my ipod and they work fine. so i tried another pair. works fine in my desktop and fine in my ipod as well as any other thing i plug them into..ACCEPT...my laptop. and they are pushed in all the way. it was working fin earlier. help? its like my laptop wont read any headphones in there. and the are pushed in all the way.

If your jack is attached to the CD Rom, you may have to slip CD rom out and reconnect it. If not, get a can of air and blow the ear phone hole a few second. If you are carrying your LT places it could be dirty. If you had your sets on and suddenly walked away forgetting to disconnect, the pin could jave jammed the knock off link inside of the plug. That will take a tech to fix or exchange the part

Run AV and Spyware, Sorry thats the best I could do without seeing the unit.
