My last name is Yambrick. It was spelled 'Jambrich' before my ancestors came to America, and I am Polish and Russian.

Doesn't even kind of sound Polish/Russian, does it? :[

  1. The Jambrich's I found were in Austria, Slavakia, Hungary, Transylvania, and even in the Balkans. It's obviously slavic, but remember that before world war one, word war two, and the collapse of the Soviet Union that most countries in Eastern Europe did not "exist" and were territories of Russia, Germany, or Austria. I'm sorry I can't help you anymore.  Nice name!

I'm Russian and Polish too!   =D

p.s. Lots of polish names have ski or wicz at the end of them and Russian names almost always end with ov or ev. Both countries also have sky (sounds just like ski) in their last names.

  2. Yes, it sounds Polish.

Look in a Polish telephone book!

  3. I am not sure what polish last names should be my step dad is polish and his last name is Alore..... Anyway I think your last name is cool polish or not!!!!!
