  1. Linconshire , Britain

Taulbee Family has held a seat there since ancient times, granted lands by William the Conqueror after the Norman invasion in 1066

  2. This is on rootsweb.  Are you any relation to Rose Taulbee?  She wrote a history of Taulbees.

AN ALL TAULBEE INDEX TO ROSE'S BOOK

As with most families, the name is spelled in many ways:

TOLBY - TALBY -TOLBEE - TALBEE - TOLBIE - TALBIE -TAULBY -TAULBEE

  3. The only way to be sure of where you originate, is to trace your families lineage. The colour of your hair and freckles isn't really any guide either. (if it was we could be cousins !)

    Taulbee

    Last name origin & meaning:

Origin unidentified. Perhaps a variant of Dalby.

    Dalby

    Last name origin & meaning:

Norwegian, Danish, and northern English: habitational name from any of various places named Dalby, named with Old Norse dalr ‘valley’ + býr ‘farm’, ‘settlement’. The English surname is common in Yorkshire, where it derives mainly from Dalby in North Yorkshire, but similarly named places in Leicestershire and Lincolnshire are also possible sources. In Norway, it is common as a farm name. See also Dahlby.

    Dahlby

    Last name origin & meaning:

Norwegian and Danish: from a Norwegian farm name or Danish place name, both derived from Old Norse dalr ‘valley’ + býr ‘farmstead’.

Edit : 'House of Names' is a commercial company interested only in profit and not facts. It is extremely unwise to accept what they say without further in depth research.
