Question:

My launchcast is tuning, but does not connect.?

I'm a long-time Launchcast customer, but just recently when I start it up, it states "tuning", but never connects. I've disabled all firewalls. I have a high-speed connection. I have made sure that all the relevant launchcast addresses are included in safe sites. What else could be the problem and solution?

  1. It could be one of a few different things.

    First, delete your temporary internet files and your Yahoo cookies and see if that helps.

    Did you change an IE setting by any chance?  Go to Tools/Internet Options/General tab/Temporary Internet Files section/Settings button.  When you get there, in the "Check for newer versions of pages" section, select the "Automatically" setting (instead of "Every visit to page").  Save that setting and then try your Launchcast player again.  It should work.  (PS- This answer applies to IE 6.  The answer for IE 7 is the same, except the setting in question may be accessed slightly differently.)

    There are a few other things it might be, but those are the most common.
