Is there some cheap and easy way to even out the ground. I' am thinking about a lawn roller, but not sure if this will work.

  1. Usually you would use a lawn roller to level out your lawn in the spring when the soil is damp.  Moisture in the soil and the weight in the roller helps in evening it out.  If you want to roll this time of the year, wait until after a good rain when the lawn is more pliable.

  2. Possibly an aerator would help.

  3. It should work.  Just water the lawn before you roll it so the roller can tamp down the high spots

  4. It sounds almost like you have- or have had- moles.

Yes, you will want a lawn roller and maybe even some fill dirt of some sort.

    Good luck!
