  1. A mower requires three things to run.Air-fuel and spark. If the air filter is clean and the spark plug is new the fuel has to be the problem.Drain it and add new gas.If it still will not run back the air fuel s***w out one complete turn. The s***w is located on the side of the carb.

  2. It sounds like the fuel supply cannot keep up with the demand, so I'm guessing something like a fuel filter or dirty carburetor.

You might get it to run if you put a little fuel treatment in with a full tank of gas.    Keep in mind that stuff is intended to treat about 10 gallons to a whole tank of gasoline, so only put about 1/10 of a bottle in a 1 gallon tank.     Then keep trying to start it, and maybe when the solvent gets into the carb it will dissolve some varnish and you'll be on your way.   It might take a day to work, so if it doesn't start and run today, try it again tomorrow.

  3. Try starting and running with the gas cap slightly loose.  Sometimes there is no way for the air to replace the gas and an air lock is formed.

Otherwise, clean your air filter and allow to dry thoroughly before  reusing.

  4. I once had a mower that just would NOT run with foam filter in the carbeurator.  I took that thing out and it ran for three more years. I just had to clean out the little pipe that sucks air in from time to time (with a Q-Tip).  Also, make sure the fuel line isn't blocked. You might have water in your gas tank (rain, condensation). Make sure you have GAS in there. I learned this stuff by trial and error. :)
